I bought this as a gift for a vegan friend. When it arrived, I was quite disappointed with the book; it didn't make for an impressive gift, by any means. I guess I should have looked more closely at the dimensions listed in the description. It is quite small, a small, thin paperback, with absolutely no interior photographs. Its size, in and of itself, would not be a problem, I suppose, if the recipes were special in some way, but they are not. These are all very basic vegan recipes intended for the vegan-newbie, I assume. I was also bothered by the lack of a table of contents, and the rather random way the recipes are presented. There are no chapters or other type of sectioning (appetizers, soups, salads, side-dishes, etc.) like most cookbooks have, which makes it easier to find specific recipes. More importantly, though, there is nothing outstanding or unique about any of these recipes. This appears to be a collection of recipes culled from other cookbooks and put together in one paperback. I do understand that the book is intended to present quick & easy recipes, too, and that is why I gave it a three-star rating. As long as you are aware that this is a small book of basic vegan recipes, which I wasn't, you might like this book. I expected a larger and more elaborate cookbook with interesting recipes. For three or four dollars, it might be worth buying the eBook, but the paperback as it is currently priced ($14) is definitely not worth the money, in my opinion, unless you are new to the vegan-diet, don't have any other vegan or vegetarian cookbooks, and want a collection of simple recipes.Product details

I believe that the Vegan cookbook is probably good for the Vegans, but I am a dairy and egg lover. Cannot imagine any meal without milk, cheese or eggs. It is an interesting read and their are a couple of things that actually look pretty good to me. It's interesting and hey - it makes me think. Isn't that what any book should do?
I'm not vegan, but some of the recipes in this book are really good!
